State and National Association Memberships
The New Car Dealers Association is one of only a few organizations in the country that pays for both state and national automotive association dues for its Dealer Members. This benefit alone exceeds the amount some dealerships pay in annual dues to the NCDA.
By paying for memberships in the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) and the California New Car Dealers Association (CNCDA), the NCDA is providing its Dealer Members with access to critical industry information, regulatory assistance, training programs and legislative representation at the state and national level.Additionally, it provides opportunities for Dealer Members to participate in annual events such as NADA’s Annual Convention & Expo and Washington, DC Legislative Conference and CNCDA’s Dealer Day.
Local, State and National Legislative Representation
The NCDA continuously monitors state and national legislation and regulatory activities under consideration which may positively or negatively impact new car dealers and their operations. Regular visits are made to Sacramento to discuss pertinent issues with CNCDA staff and coordinate lobbying efforts with state lawmakers. Each year, the NCDA coordinates dealer meetings in Sacramento in conjunction with Dealer Day as face-to-face meetings with legislators are a powerful tool in representing dealers’ interests and viewpoints on pending legislation.
Likewise, association staff work in conjunction with NADA staff and House of Representative Members representing San Diego County to ensure the interests of NCDA Dealers are well represented at the federal level. NCDA staff regularly attends NADA’s Washington, DC Legislative Conference and meets with San Diego congress members to share concerns about the potential impacts of federal legislation and regulations on Dealer Members and their operations.

NCDA.com also serves as an important information resource for Dealer Members. In addition to Dealer Alerts, event information, seminar registration and updates on regulations and laws impacting dealership operations can be found in the Dealers Only section.

The annual Economic Impact Report highlights the significant positive monetary impact dealers have on San Diego’s economy. The report highlights employment statistics, tax revenue generation, advertising spending and charitable contributions – all which demonstrate that San Diego’s automotive dealers are a major economic force in the county. These reports are distributed to Dealer Members and Associate Members as well as to local, state and federal elected officials as a reminder of the extraordinary contributions NCDA Dealer Members present to the economic growth in the region. Annual Membership Directory
Each year, the NCDA surveys Dealer Members and Associate Members to create the Membership Directory. Periodic updates are provided throughout the year to keep the directory’s information as up-to-date as possible. In addition, there is an online Associate Member Directory for use as a tool by dealers to find products and services offered by Associate Members.
